We started Black History School in February 2021, with a passion to make Black History more than a month. Our educational system has been missing complete and balanced teaching of Black History, and the Black Lives Matter movement helped bring this to national attention.

At the time, the Coronavirus lockdowns were negatively affecting our children’s learning and social time with their peers. We wanted to nurture their sense of identity, belonging, and well-being, and we felt that it was more important than ever for our children to learn about Black History.

Humblebee Creative was founded in May 2019.
